Within the medieval town of Rye, Kaner Olette have been appointed to develop a constrained historic mews site for mixed uses.

To the north of the site a series of 5 townhouses will be set into the existing forms of the brick industrial shells, each with their own slate pitched roofs. A standalone corner plot building with numerous unusual window and stair features will become a single unit with a courtyard garden. The former stables to the west are to be fitted out for commercial usage.

The key challenges of the scheme are the proximity of the townhouses to the neighbouring properties and the restoration of the historic proportions of the frontage.
