Straw-bale Learning Centre
This project is part of a larger landscape led masterplan for the regeneration of a Silvia Crowe designed 1960s New Town park in Harlow.
This part of the scheme includes a new build strawbale learning centre with a flexible internal space, black stained timber cladding, natural ventilation and biomass heating. The building utilises sustainable systems such as high levels of strawbale insulation. The building is highly insulated and is one of the first to utilise prefabricated curved straw bale construction. Within the former walled nursery site a series of recycled shipping containers have been remodelled and clad to create a new horticultural training facility.
