Garricks Temple Loggia

Learning and Heritage

Garrick’s Temple to Shakespeare was built n 1756 by David Garrick - a celebrated Shakespearean actor. The Temple, its loggia and the surrounding gardens were renovated in the 1990s by a National Lottery Fund.

Kaner Olette worked with the Trust to renovate the existing loggia amenities into a suitable education and visitor facility. Flexibility was key to the design and was achieved with screened storage and moveable walls. Windows and doors were carefully inserted to create open frontage without affecting the Grade I listed setting.
